Campaigns & Education - Recycle week 2009
Local councils in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Partnership are celebrating Recycle Week from Monday 22 – Sunday 28 June 2009. This year, the week-long campaign is encouraging everyone to think about the many, easy ways we can all waste less and make more of the resources we have.
Council officers will hold a number of events to provide you with useful giveaways and information on what happens to your waste and what we can all do to increase recycling. Check our latest events for details.
You can also register a personal pledge to recycle or reduce more of your waste here.
Once you pledge, you will receive details about the positive effect your pledge will have on the environment.
In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough we are among the top recyclers in the country, currently recycling over 50 per cent of our total household waste. Let's keep a good thing going!
From recycling more everyday items like glass and plastic bottles, to reducing food waste, re-using carrier bags or trying out new things like home composting, there's lots of things we can all do to help cut back on the amount of waste we send to landfill.
