Why we Need a Plan

During the summer of 2001 we sent this leaflet to every household in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (outlining the scale of the problem, along with possible solutions) and a questionnaire (to seek your opinions). We sent our roadshow caravan and exhibition to spend four days in each district and also held a series of interactive 'Rubbish' workshops so that people could have their say.

TAWS (Towards A Waste Strategy) published in March 2001 outlines the problems we face without a meaningful plan for dealing with waste and the targets set for us by the Government.
