08/07/2009 - Street Entertainers Help Food Lovers Reduce Their Waste

The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Partnership is running a series of street performances to show how everyone can save money and save the planet at the same time.

The performances are being run as part of the Partnership’s Love Food Hate Waste campaign which aims to reduce the amount of food waste we throw away by providing easy to follow tips and recipes .  The street performers will be at the following events over the next few weeks:

  • Huntingdon Farmers' Market, Market Hill, Huntingdon on Friday 10 July
  • Children's Festival on Parkers Piece Cambridge on Saturday 11 July
  • Outside Waitrose supermarket in Ely on Friday 17 July from 10-14
  • Cambourne Fete in Cambourne on Saturday 15 August
  • Greener Living Fair West End Park March 15 August.

Council officers will also be on hand with handy tips and helpful giveaways, and residents will be encouraged to show how much they love food by pledging to reduce food waste – all pledges will be entered in a draw to win a great eco prize.
