Real Nappy
Know your options!
Did you know that alternatives to the disposable nappy still exist and that the reusable nappies available are a lot more attractive than the Terry cloths and safety pins you may have in mind!
Disposable nappies can take a huge amount of time to rot away, up to 200 years. Almost half of what a one-baby family throws away is nappies and they are one of the largest single items of rubbish the UK has to deal with.
Where do I get real nappies?
There are stores in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough that supply Real Nappies; some companies even offer washing services and the prices are comparable with the cost of disposable ones. Visit the Go Real website for more information.
Real Nappy Week
Real Nappy week is in April every year. It is an international multi-media campaign that aims to inform everybody (not just parents!) about Real Nappies and their benefits.
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough authorities embrace this chance to inform the public and every year a variety of activities, such as road shows, demonstrations and competitions, are held.
