Schools & Recycling Education: Cambridgeshire
Education Centre in Waterbeach
The Council runs a state of the art Education Centre in partnership with
AmeyCespa at the Mechanical Biological Treatment Plant at Waterbeach.
This centre provides people with a unique opportunity to find out what
happens to their waste and why it is so important that we all reduce,
reuse and recycle more.
It has been designed to cater for primary and secondary schools,
colleges, community groups and residents in Cambridgeshire.
Visits include a tour of the wider Waste Management Park to see what is
involved in waste recycling and processing, and you can see the
Mechanical Biological Treatment Plant at work through viewing windows
and CCTV.
Teachers deliver curriculum-linked sessions for children and students
with practical, fun, hands-on activities. Schools or colleges who would
like to focus on a particular curriculum subject or project theme can
arrange this before visiting.
For full information including details of activities, practicalities like transport arrangements and a risk assessment, visit the Education Centre website.
